This page describes main training programmes provided by IOEH

IOEH provides quite a lot of training for students of Medical Academy of Latvia on occupational and environmental health and medicine. This table shows you the Faculties, years and subjets of training.

It is important to notice that curricula for these students are officially recognised by Medical Academy of Latvia. Generally it means that the Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health is the only institution in Republic of Latvia providing higher education on occupational and environmental health for medical professionals. The quality of training curricula is assessed by the Board of Deans of Medical Academy of Latvia. Medical Academy of Latvia bears responsibility for the quality of teaching programmes to the Ministry of Welfare.

Training for other specialists

Besides training of students IOEH also provides training for many different specialists of Occupational Health & Safety:

Courses for occupational physicians already working in the Occupational Health & Safety services. This training is provided within Faculty of Postgraduate training of Medical Academy;
Course for Occupational hygienists;
Courses for Occupational Nurses. This training is provided for School of Public Health;
Courses and seminars of different level - most commonly used in cooperation with State Labour Inspectorate for different specialists of occupational and environmental health (with different backgrounds) (labour inspectors; safety engineers, members of labour protective committees and etc..)

P.S. It is important to note that many specialised courses are made on demand (based on existing programmes for corresponding level of knowledge) for various specialists. They are usually recognised by Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health,Medical Academy of Latvia.
