List of Occupational diseases
Issued in conformity with the Law about Health Care
Paragraph 8, point 6
1. These regulations determine following occupational diseases:
| 1.1 | Acute and chronic diseases caused by chemical factors: | |
| 1.1.1. | diseases caused by metals or metaloids: toxic impairments of respiratory system, anemia, hepatitis, nephrophaties, toxic impairments of nervous system, tumors, metal fume fewer, skin diseases. | |
| 1.1.2. | diseases caused by non-organic halogen compounds: toxic impairments of respiratory system, skin diseases. | |
| 1.1.3. | diseases caused by cyanide compounds - toxic impairments of respiratory system; | |
| 1.1.4. | diseases caused by substances with caustic and irritative effect (non-organic gas, acid, hydroxide, hydrogen peroxide): toxic impairments of respiratory system, skin diseases. | |
| 1.1.5. | diseases caused by hydrocarbons and its compounds: toxic impairments of respiratory system, diseases of blood born system, hepatitis, nephrophaties, toxic impairments of nervous system, tumors, skin diseases; | |
| 1.1.6. | diseases caused by nitro compounds and amino compounds: toxic impairments of respiratory system, diseases of blood born system, hepatitis, nephrophaties, toxic impairments of nervous system, tumors, skin diseases; | |
| 1.1.7. | diseases caused by phenol and its compounds: toxic impairments of respiratory system, toxic impairments of kidneys, skin diseases; | |
| 1.1.8. | diseases caused by alcohols and glycols: diseases of n. opticus and retina, toxic impairments of nervous system, skin diseases; | |
| 1.1.9. | diseases caused by ethers, esters and epoxides compounds: toxic impairments of respiratory system, skin diseases, tumors. | |
| 1.1.10. | diseases caused by aldehydes and ketons: toxic impairments of respiratory system, diseases of peripheral nervous system, skin diseases; | |
| 1.1.11. | diseases caused by organic acids and their derivates (amides, acid anhydrides): toxic impairments of respiratory system, diseases of peripheral nervous system, hepatitis, skin diseases; | |
| 1.2 | diseases caused by the biologic agents: | |
| 1.2.1. | infections and parasitic diseases (in accordance with infections to which the person are exposed during working day); | |
| 1.2.2. | dysbacteriosis, skin and mucuous membrane candidiasis, visceral candidiasis; | |
| 1.3 | diseases caused by physical factors: | |
| 1.3.1. | .diseases caused by influence of ionising radiation: radiation diseases (acute or chronic), local tissue impairments (acute or chronic), tumors; | |
| 1.3.2. | local tissue impairments caused by laser radiation (skin burns, impairments of cornea and retina); | |
| 1.3.3. | diseases caused by local or whole - body vibration; | |
| 1.3.4. | neuritis cochlearis, noise caused hearing loss and occupational deafness; | |
| 1.3.5. | electroophtalmia caused by intensive ultraviolet radiation, cataract; | |
| 1.3.6. | decompression sickness (Caisson workers sickness) and its consequence (osteonecrosis); | |
| 1.3.7. | compression disease (barotitis); | |
| 1.3.8. | diseases caused by heat irradiation: heat stress, cramps, cataract; | |
| 1.3.9. | diseases caused by low temperatures: angioneurosis, angiotrophoneurosis; endarteritis obliterans, vegetative sensorial polyneuritis; | |
| 1.4 | diseases caused by drugs: toxic impairment of respiratory system; anemia, hepatitis, nephrophatia, toxic impairments of nervous system, tumors, metal fume fewer, skin diseases; | |
| 1.5 | diseases caused by overload (common physical overload or overload of separate organs and systems): | |
| 1.5.1. | coordination neurosis; | |
| 1.5.2. | Diseases of peripheral nervous and musculosceletal system (acute, sub-acute and chronic): mononeurophathies and polyneurophathies, including compression and vegetosensoral neuropathies and lumbosacral radiculitis, chronic tendovaginitis, ligamentitis, “frozen” shoulder, bursitis, osteoarthrosis dephormans, including spondiloarthrosis and aseptic osteonecrosis; | |
| 1.5.3 | contractura Dypitreni; | |
| 1.5.4. | prolapsus and fall out of the uterus and vaginae; | |
| 1.5.5. | massive varicose veins of lower extremity with inflammation; (trombophlebitis) or trophical disturbances; | |
| 1.5.6. | diseases caused by overload of vocal ligaments: chronic laryngitis, nodulus plicae vocalis (noduli of singers), contactulcer of plica vocalis, phonasthenia; | |
| 1.5.7. | progressive short-sight | |
| 1.5.8. | emphysema; | |
| 1.5.9. | psychoneurosis; | |
| 1.6 | diseases caused by industrial aerosols | |
| 1.6.1. | pneumoconioses: silicosis, silicotuberculosis, silicatosis, asbestosis, mataloconiosis, carboconiosis, mixed dust pneumoconiosis, organic dust pneumoconiosis; | |
| 1.6.2. | chronic bronchitis (dust bronchitis, toxic dust bronchitis in unfavorable meteorological conditions); | |
| 1.6.3. | chronic rhynopharyngolaryngitis; | |
| 1.6.4. | tumors of respiratory system and lungs; | |
| 1.6.5. | asbestos caused mesothelioma; | |
| 1.7 | occupational allergic diseases caused by factors others than mentioned above: | |
| 1.7.1 | conjunctivitis, rhynitis, rynopharyngitis, rhynopharyngolaringitis, rhynosinusitis, bronchial asthma, bronchitis asthmatic, exogen alveolitis, eczema, toxicodermia, oedema Quincke, urticaria, anaphylactic shock, toxicoallergic hepatitis, vasculitis, allergic inflammation of nervus cochlearis, mononeurophaties and polineurophaties, polyneuritis. |
2. Establish, that diseases connection with occupation in accordance with the list of diseases mentioned in the point 1. is established by the Consultative Commission of physicians of Occupational medicine of the Center of Occupational and Radiological Medicine of P. Stradina Clinical Hospital of Latvian Medical Academy.
