A lot of attention within activities of IOEH is stressed to generation and dissemination of Information on Occupational and Environmental Health. This task is clasiffied as one of most important tasks of IOEH due to former lack of information on any Occupational and Environmental Health issues in Latvia.

Research is essential function of IOEH that serves as a background for further development and collaboration within the field of occupational health and safety. Any research activities are strongly encouraged and supported at several levels starting from research done by students till large research projects involving foreign partners. A lot of attention is paid to the development of new research projects.

Expert Services provided by IOEH serves as an excellent source for dissemination of its strategies and information in the field of Occupational and Environmental Health. Expert Services provided also contributes significantly to the knowledge of the specialists of IOEH. They also accounts for a significant contribution to the budget of IOEH.
Today IOEH certainly has most powerful potential for providing of Expert Services in many aspects of Occupational and Environmental Health including extensive range of Hygienic measurments both for working and general environment and specially developed training programmes for different specialists (safety engineers, members of labour protective committees and etc.).

IOEH has been actively working in order to establish new and develop existing collaboration with many different institutions in Latvia as well as abroad. Collaboration has been recognised to be one of most important tasks of IOEH. It certainly has significantly contributed to the development of IOEH through joined training activities and research projects both in Latvia and abroad.
